Benefits of this location: Very central. This is the main area of Bangkok’s nightlife, where are the discotheques in SukhumvitSoi 11 (Soi are the small streets that come out of Sukhumvit). Near the red neighborhoods Nana and SoiCowboy . Only 3 skytrain stations from major shopping centers of Siam.

1. Khaosan Road – The Backpackers Area

Road is the backpacker’s area in Bangkok and is a tourist attraction in itself. Visit: Khaosan Road – Survival Guide .

The advantages of this place: Many cheap hotels and restaurants and a lively atmosphere. Many vegetarian restaurants.

Khaosan is close to some major tourist attractions like: The Grand Palace, Chao Phraya River and WatSaket.

Khaosan is a pretty noisy environment but you can find quiet hotels on the riverside.

2. The Chao Phraya River

Advantages of this location: It’s always nice to have a view of a river. The banks of the Chao Phraya River are one of the most pleasant and elegant places in Bangkok and staying there is more expensive. This includes some luxury hotels, such as the Hilton and Sheraton hotels at Pier.

The backpacker’s area, the Khaosan , is also close to the river, but you have to take a hotel on PhraAthit street to get a view of the river.
